Background: Ceftriaxone sodium is the third generation cephalosporin and is widely used in children. The drug’s renal exclusion rate of 33% -67%, the rest excluded by the biliary system. Ceftriaxone sodium can combine with calcium ions to form insoluble precipitates, leading to biliary pseudo-stone disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether ceftriaxone sodium can cause kidney stones with the same mechanism and whether it is dose-related. Methods: Totally 51 children with various infections were selected. 24 of them were admitted to hospital for severe infection and received cefotiam at a dose of 100 mg / (kg · d)
