自五十年代以来,伴随地下采矿工艺和设备的演进,包括留矿法在内的空场采矿法,也进入了一个新的发展阶段。在一些采矿工业比较发达的国家,其总的发展动向是:注重改革采矿工艺及采场结构,研制使用同采矿工艺相适应的新型设备,推广应用斜巷采准、无轨采矿、高能爆破、锚喷固结、振动放矿等新技术和新工艺;在继续广泛采用房柱法、分段空场法等高效率常规方法的同时,积极发展、应用VaR法等新型的空场采矿法。
