李岚清同志在全国中小学素质教育经验会上明确指出“实施素质教育要求面向全体儿童、少年,促进每一个学生的发展”。而做好后进生的转化工作是其中的关键之一。所谓后进生,通常是指品德、学习和行为习惯等方面明显比其他人落后的学生。他们一般都精力充沛,好玩好动,兴趣广泛,学习不太用功,有一定的情绪性。后进生因为长时间处于落后的状态,使他们具有一定的自卑感,导致对正常的学习、活动有恐惧感和畏惧情绪,这种不正常的心理状态使他们不再轻易地接受教师的批评教育,长此以往就形成恶性循环。这种对自我放弃的态度、对学习的排斥情绪是阻碍他们进步的重要因素,所以转化工作的关键是怎样使后进生产生健康而积极的学习动机。
