准噶尔汗国明阿特鄂托克之属民,曾于17世纪初,居住在唐努山和克穆河一带,如同图瓦等,为操突厥语的蒙古部之一,与唐努乌梁海一同隶属于喀尔喀和托辉特部。后来,准噶尔部趁喀尔喀内乱之际,出兵将明阿特等部掳掠而去。值策旺阿拉布坦时期,准噶尔汗国为加强对明阿特等部的控制和扩充兵力,将之迁徙并使之从属部正式纳入了准噶尔汗国内部管理体制,使明阿特部成为准噶尔24鄂托克之一。这样,明阿特部就被迁到特穆尔图淖尔等地方以防守哈萨克、布鲁特,直至准噶尔灭亡。
