本文主要是讨论变位齒輪的关鍵——变位係數的选擇问题。文中首先將变位係數选擇的一般原则概括地進行了分析,然後根据变位齒輪在机床製造业中各种不同的应用、变位系數应如何选擇等逐条进行了討論;並且对於机床設計的兩本权威著作——阿切尔康和葉盖尔曼的著作中,关於变位齒輪齒数修正量建议的異同點作了較詳尽的分析,並提出主观的見解。最後,以262卧式鏜床送進变速箱为例,着重介紹著名的噶符黎列恩科图解法,对於主张机床变速箱中的变位齒輪也应根据等强度选擇变位係數的論點,指出了錯誤的根源,并提出合理选择的途徑。
