Japanese researchers recently found that people commuting by bus or train are healthier than people walking. Although the cause is not clear, researchers speculate that people who take public transport actually do more after taking into account the fact that office workers will walk to the bus or train station. The researchers selected 6,000 Japanese adults who underwent a series of health tests and provided information about their commute.
