“Imperial Falls” is the representative of contemporary American writer Richard Larser. The work won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature in the United States in 2002, and is rich in character and narrative from multiple perspectives. Stories from an all-round description of an unknown town in the United States life, intertwined the life of the town’s past and present, history and reality. Based on the related theories of narratology, this article analyzes how Lasso used the narrative perspective in the novel “The Falls of the Imperial God” to describe the social changes of a traditional industrial town in the last forty years of the 20th century. Through narrative space, American society; and from the metaphor of the theme, it expresses the struggles of the working class in the American town under the influence of the industrial revolution in the conflict between history and reality, reality and ideal.
