这么多文化界知名人士专程到天津,对我市文艺工作是个很大的促进,我们表示欢迎和感谢。借此机会,我想就振兴京剧问题,谈点感受和看法,和诸位共商。首先,谈谈怎样看待中国历史文化的问题,因为这和振兴京剧有着直接的关系。最近一个时期,随着对外开放规模的不断扩大和深入,一些同志产生了一种糊涂看法,似乎外国什么都好,我们什么都得向外国学习。甚至有极少数人公开主张“全盘西化”,这当然是另一种性质的问题了。这些看法很不利于我们创造以马克思主义为指导的,批判地继承历史传统而又充分体现时代精神的,立足本国又面向世界的,这样一种高度发达的社会主义精神文明。我们毫不隐讳,由于封建制度的腐朽和帝国主义的侵略,近一、二百年,我们有些方面是落后了。就文学创作而言,在法国象卢梭、狄德罗、巴尔扎克、雨果、大仲马、莫伯桑等,描写、刻画社会比较深刻,
