Molybdenite and its multi-type molybdenum ore is the most important industrial minerals. The differences in the physical properties and chemical composition of the counties they have bound inevitably reflect the physico-chemical conditions for their formation. This paper discusses the typomorphic characteristics and genesis of molybdenite and its polytype in this deposit. I. Geological Survey of Deposits A molybdenum deposit in Qinling Mountains is located at the junction of the Taihang uplift zone of the Xinhuaxia and the north subtropical zone of the East-West structural belt of the North Qinling. The strata exposed in the mining area are the Aurora submarine Great Wall Bear ear group. The lithology is mainly composed of basalt-an-mountain-dacite, with slate, volcanic breccia and marble.
