China is the first country in the world to give tea culture significance. When Japan learned from the tea culture in China, by virtue of its own innovation and excellent ability to learn and transform, it completed the transition between other cultures and its own culture and created a unique Japanese tea ceremony. Tea culture can be regarded as Japan’s success in absorbing other cultures. In today’s globalization, how to treat the advanced cultures of various countries and achieve new development while maintaining their own cultural characteristics has now become an important issue. Based on the similarities and differences of tea culture in China and Japan, this essay analyzes the formation of background and aesthetic awareness, and explores the absorption of foreign cultures by Japan, looking for a place that we can learn from.
