文化多样性是对世界文化发展状况的真实描述,且构成了推动创意城市发展转向的重要理念。“全球创意城市网络”的倡议,使创意城市成为发展和保护文化多样性的重要实践。对创意城市实践的认定与测度主要围绕文化主题和经济指标等方式进行,不同的测度方式彰显出创意城市实践路径的多样性和复杂性。在文化多样性和创意城市路径探索的互动中,坚持文化多样性对创意城市建设有诸多启示,主要体现在:创意城市应将文化多样性内化为自身发展的价值理念,创意城市应将自身打造成多样性文化发展的载体,创意城市应坚持文化多样性以实现城市的跨越式发展,创意城市应坚持文化多样性以实现文化与经济的协调发展。
