俄罗斯航空工业作为国家经济领域中具有较高工艺和科学技术密集型的产业,继续保持着相当高的科技生产潜力,以及从事军用、民用、军民合用产品的开发研制能力。这种能力处于世界先进水平,而且正在采取有效措施成为俄罗斯经济变革式发展的领头羊。在俄罗斯国防工业领域中,航空工业堪称是最为强大的,不但能够保证国家国防和安全利益,而且可以保证国家空中运输及其它经济领域的利益。其从业人员有近50万人,占国防工业联合体工业生产总值的40%,在军工产品生产中占60%,而在军事技术产品出口中占2/3强。
