溴化物與碘化物都是調劑室中常備的兩類藥物,前者尤為多用。溴与碘是同族元素,他們的化合物具有一般的通性,例如都能自溶液中沉澱生物鹼類;分解低汞轉生劇毒的的高汞:2Hg~+(?)Hg~(++)+Hg~0;但對亞硝酸鹽的禁忌,溴化物與碘化物是完全不同的。在碘化物遇到亞硝酸迅即產生氣泡,溶液顏色變深,起下反應:
Bromide and iodide are the two types of drugs that are commonly found in the modulation room. The former is particularly useful.
