On August 7, 29 model workers from the national statistical system, representatives from 171 advanced workers and 61 advanced collectives gathered in the small auditorium of the Zhongnanhai State Department in Beijing to attend the 40th anniversary commemorative meeting of the government statistical agency. Ma Hong, Yuan Baohua, Chen Xian, He Guanghui, Liu Jibin, Cheng Lianchang, Jia Qiyun and Li Chengrui, leaders of the Central Government, State Council and relevant ministries and commissions, were invited to attend the meeting. Commemorative meeting by the National Bureau of Statistics deputy director Zheng Jiaheng presided over. Sun Jingxin, deputy director of the first read out the inscriptions of Li Peng, Li Xiannian, Chen Muhua, Wang Binggan and other leading comrades and Bo Yibo’s letter of congratulation.
