  The Self Introduction

Hey, everyone, I’m Miley Cyrus and this is my new book, Miles to Go.
It’s crazy to know that people are, like, waiting outside and they’re like there, like, the day before, waiting. It’s crazy, but, it’s cool. It just shows, like, you know, a lot of my fans are really dedicated.
Miles to Go is showing a little bit of what my life has been like so far. I talk about, like, things that happen in school, and 1)auditioning. So, things that I’ve never really been able to talk about before. I know this is only one chapter in my life, but I know that I’ll keep, like, learning.
I would love to write another book someday. Just because I know that this is just like the beginning, ’cause I would love to, you know, keep learning. It creates a closer, like, (of a) bond you have with your fans. It makes it easier to write, easier, it gives you more, like, inspiration, to keep working, and keep trying. So, I’m excited that they’ll get to know me just a little bit better.

  The Miley Mania

Reporter: 2)OMG, guys, OMG. It’s Miley mania here in Los Angeles. Hundreds of people are lining up to meet the one and only, Miley Cyrus.
Miley: I want them to be able to feel like they know me, like, more. And feel like I’m not just like, a picture in a magazine. That I’m actually, like, a real person with real feelings and real thoughts and I’m happy to put them out there.
Reporter: And put them out there she did. In Miles to Go the 3)Hannah Montana star opens up on fame, family and falling in and out of love. She’s only 16, but she already knows heartache. She dated Nick Jonas for two years before they called it quits.
Miley: It’s hard and, most likely, you’re gonna end up goin’ through several more of ’em and heartbreaks and just basically about getting through that first one and knowing what it feels like. You know, you gotta learn to get hurt sometimes. Otherwise, its like, you’re never gonna learn.
Reporter: And there’s so much to learn about Miley.
Miley: First of all, here’s a bunch of pictures.
  Reporter: Yeah.
Miley: That’s me in my dad’s guitar case. But then there’s more. Like, peace signs. But then here’s, like, little notes that I did. So this is, like, all my real handwriting. I actually wrote all these. And these are, like, seven things that I wish were true. People I can’t live without. So there’s always, like, seven things. That right here at the end there’s, like, the hundred things I want to do before I die.
Fan A: I’m so excited that Icould...I could die right now.
  Fan B: I love her.

  The Favorite Jonas

Interviewer: OK, in the book, you talk about the love of your life. “Prince Charming,” you call him. When you broke up, it was the worst day of your life. You do not mention his name. It doesn’t happen to be Nick Jonas, does it?
Miley: You’re not implying anything? You know, but well…
  Interviewer: We all know that…
Miley: Even, yeah, even with, like, the mean girls I kept it, like, without saying their name, ’cause I always want to, like, stay as respectful as possible and respect people’s privacy. But it’s only, like, I’ve only had one other real relationship and it was Nick. So, I was happy I got to write about it, and I kept still some of the most personal things personal. And you know, details of the breakup and stuff weren’t really needed, but I think it was important because the media will always pull out little things about us, and that we’re 4)feuding. And that we’re this and that we’re that, and he’s honestly, he’s like one of my best friends. So, I wouldn’t lose him for anything.
Interviewer: We talked to him this year, and I have the quote. He said, “It comes down to a good friendship.” And then he said, “And whatever that has in the future.” So, do you see a future? Am I telling you something you don’t know?
Miley: Maybe, he does. If Nick is wanting something more, I don’t think that’s true. I think that he just wants to be friends. Honestly, I think he’s the greatest. And I ask…I get asked all the time who’s my favorite 5)Jonas. Nick is my favorite Jonas. So, I’m happy with our friendship.
