In the study of two diploid to near diploid and two sub-triploid adult glioma cell lines, G- and C-band techniques were applied. The source of the marker chromosomes contained in the karyotype of stem cells (the number of which is from 5 to 11) can be almost completely understood. In order to describe the type of banding of astrocytic gliomas, the current results are combined with some of the results of the previously studied three glioma cell lines. Chromosome image analysis revealed that the karyotype of this cell line was partially increased on chromosomes 7 and 19, chromosomes 4 and 22, perhaps most likely chromosomes 10 and 12 decreased
