香港启德机场位于香港市区东北部,距九龙火车站3公里,建于30年代末,1940年开始启用,以后几乎年年扩建,其中有5次较大规模的扩建,最近的一次是1988年。扩建完工后旅客年吞吐量达1800万人,现在已突破2000万人,货运量达100万吨,居东南亚第二位。机场目前由香港民航署经营管理。虽然启德机场已经历了半个多世纪的风风雨雨,但其基本状况仍未改变,仍是使用一条跑道,且有一半伸向海中。从空中鸟瞰,机场平面就像一支手枪:笔直的跑道、滑行道似枪管,客运楼、货运楼、维修机坪构成枪的手柄,
Hong Kong Kai Tak Airport is located in the northeast of Hong Kong City, 3 km from Kowloon Railway Station, was built in the late 30s, started in 1940, after almost every year the expansion, of which there are 5 large-scale expansion, the most recent is 1988 year.
