The United States Chamber of Commerce, the American Manufacturers Association, the U.S. Foreign Trade Commission and more than a dozen trade associations sent a joint letter to the U.S. Agency for Trade Representation stating that they are strongly opposed to the current EU policy on non-agricultural market access (NAMA) in the World Trade Organization (WTO) Proposal of the agreement. The joint letter pointed out that the proposal of the European Union proposes to list a small number of specific agencies as the standard-setting agencies and finds that the only standards set by these agencies are international standards within the framework of the WTO / TBT agreement, which will inevitably limit the Flexible use of international standards.
