我场以泗阳437与墨西哥910杂交选育的棉花新品种泗棉2号(原名泗阳835),1982—1987年先后参加了江苏省、安徽省、湖南省、全国长江流域棉花品种区域试验及江苏省棉花品种生产试验。在所有省与国家级(长江流域)试验中均表现高产稳产。分别经江苏省(1984)、安徽省(1985)、湖南省(1988)农作物品种审定委员会审定通过,并在长江中下游各省市大面积推广种植,同时被定为江苏、安徽、湖南、江西及全国长江流域棉花品种区域试
