Some scholars put forward different opinions on the ethnicity and the staging of the early tombs in the report of “Yiyang Chu Tomb”, saying that “there should be a cemetery before the middle of the Warring States Period in Yiyang Luyang”; Yiyang had no late Spring and Autumn Period and early Warring States period Chu tomb; part of the Warring States Period and the late Warring States period in the Qin and Han dynasties. I do not agree with this statement. After comparing the related tombs proposed by different acquaintances with the large-scale Spring and Autumn Warring States graves in Mount Yuntai, Dangyang Zhaojiahu, Jiangling Jiudian, Changsha and Xiangxi Liye Maocha, the dating of the Yiyang Chu tomb is confirmed. In 2005, a site from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period was unearthed in Yiyang City. Among them, the remaining part of the Spring and Autumn Period was a typical Chu culture, which fully proved that Chu culture had entered Yiyang in the late Spring and Autumn.
