Ancient poetry is a treasure in the treasure house of the Chinese nation. It also accumulated ancient people’s observation experience of nature and the understanding of the relationship between man and the natural environment. The rich cultural heritage of ancient poetry deserves to be a valuable resource for various courses in middle schools. However, the development and utilization of this resource depends on the change of curriculum view. In the past, biological teaching only focused on pedagogic knowledge education for students, ignoring the student’s learning process as a unified process of knowledge, affection, intention, and conduct. The new curriculum advocates the education of harmonious development, emphasizing that education should focus on social life and children’s experience, taking into account the multiple development needs of students’ physical and psychological, intellectual and abilities. To this end, the author carefully analyzed and studied the current textbooks of various subjects, and considered that some ancient poems in Chinese textbooks are related to environmental education.
