The reliable data for thallium and rubidium in Carlin-type gold deposits are seldom published. In the past, gold has been identified as As, Sb, and Hg, but in some cases the mobility of these elements is different from that of gold, so it does not always provide the exact potential target sites, and most of them are coexisting with sulfides. At present, studies on the relationship between Tl and Tl and Rb, K, Ba and Sr in gold, silver, uranium, copper-molybdenum and molybdenum deposits show that high Tl contents, low K / Tl and Ba / Tl ratios and High Tl / Sr ratio is a potential indicator of hydrothermal genetic deposits. However, until now these relationships have not expanded to Carlin-type deposits. The main content of this paper is to deal with the Tl and Rb content data obtained in these deposits, to verify the relevance of Tl, Rb and K as a practical prospecting method and to evaluate the K / Rb, K / Tl, Rb / Sr, and Tl / Sr ratios. Some authors have suggested that the K / Rb and Rb / Sr ratios are useful in determining different deposit types. Carlin-type deposits include the Carlin, Alligator Ridge and Jerritt Canyon deposits in Nevada, the Mercur deposit in Utah and the North Mocasin deposit in Montana.
