The Illinois Bridge on the Mississippi River, USA won the Long March Award at the 1989 American Bridge Race at the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). The bridge is 1372m long, with 2134m approach bridge, 134 + 900 + 134 (m) span of the main bridge and 18.3m headroom. It is the first cable-stayed bridge in the United States to be constructed using laminated steel beams and concrete bridge deck structures.
