颜元(1635—1704),清初教育家。字易直,号混然,别号习斋,河北博野人。家境贫寒,曾务农、行医、贩药。三十岁后,著《存学》、《存性》、《存治》、《存人》四篇,开始在家乡教学。六十二岁应邀到河南肥乡讲学,主持漳南书院,设文事、武备、经史、艺能诸科,从学者甚多。关于教育目的,他主张培养身心健康、文武兼备的有用人才。
Yan Yuan (1635-1704), early Qing educator. Easy word straight, mixed numbers, alias Xi vegetarian, Hebei Boya. Poor family, had agriculture, medicine, drug trafficking.
