82586是Intel公司的协处理器系列芯片之一,也是其局域网825芯片集的核心产品。它集成的通信功能升格到通信处理机的高度,能与主机CPU并行工作,从而大大提高了通信效率,减轻了GPU的开销。本文将对82586的特点、结构、原理及应用作一介绍。一、特点 82586与82588都是Intel支持局域网的主要芯片(本刊1988年第7期对82588单片控制器已作过介绍),两者的共同点和不同点如下: (一)82586与82588的共同点 1.按照IEEE802.3和Ethernet协议标准,完成CSMA/CD数据链路功能,实现ISO—OSI七层模型的低二层的基本要求。
