研究鱼类的染色体和染色体组型,对探索鱼类的发生、遗传、杂交育种、水质监测等都有重要的意义。这也是细胞生物学和细胞遗传学的基础工作之一。早期研究染色体的方法,多采用压片和石蜡切片,且鱼类染色体一般小而多,进行分析有一定的难度,以致数据不尽确切。六十年代后,由于空气干燥法、细胞和组织培养术的兴起和发展,才使鱼类染色体研究工作向前迈进了一大步。国外对鱼类染色体的研究颇多,在25,000种现生的鱼类中,按(1980)的
