As we all know, the reinforced concrete chimney can generally have four reactions under the action of earthquake: horizontal reaction, vertical reaction, torsional reaction and swing reaction. The horizontal reaction of reinforced concrete chimneys under the action of earthquakes has been extensively studied by scholars at home and abroad. This article only discusses the vertical response of reinforced concrete chimneys under earthquakes, other issues related to twisting and rocking, and earthquakes. The vertical resonance problem will be discussed later. A. Calculation Model Problem on Vertical Vibrations A large number of earthquake damage investigations and earthquake records all indicate that the reinforced concrete chimney has vertical vibration under the action of earthquakes, and this view has become the majority of scientific workers and engineering designers.
