No one has entered the demilitarized zone for 50 years instead of merely pronouncing fear, threats and mined areas. It is also a natural sanctuary for animals and plants. When it comes to the most densely armed and confrontational areas in the world today, we must mention the DPRK-ROK military region that surrounds 38 degrees north latitude and crosses the Korean Peninsula. The armistice agreement of 1953 drew a pause for that heavy loss war, but the two sides never signed the peace treaty, and in theory they are still in a state of war. There are over 1 million North Korean troops, 600,000 South Korean troops and 17,000 U.S. troops stationed on each side of the demilitarized zone. There are a large number of tank traps and tunnels in the demilitarized zone, with 1 million mines planted.
