我是1976年年底到国家图书馆的,从事蒙古文工作,那时还叫北京图书馆,馆址在北海,民语组办公室在主楼的地下室。黄明信老先生1979年到馆,直到1998年离开工作岗位,我与黄先生共事了20年。黄先生是我此生最敬佩的一位德高望重的学者,与黄先生朝夕相处的日子是我此生最难忘的。黄先生学问好,人也好,以“学而不厌,诲人不倦”来形容黄先生最适合不过。黄先生的学问很高,他清华大学历史系毕业,还在拉卜楞寺学习了8年,不仅藏语文了得,而且精通藏传佛教,获有绕绛巴的学位。不仅如此,黄先生还精通藏传佛教中最深奥难懂的历算学,研究历算还需要现代天文学、数学知识,
