A study in the United States shows that the effect of peak bone mineral density (BMD) on the initial age of osteoporosis is six times greater than that of non-menopausal and menopausal-related bone loss. The factors that affect osteoporosis and their extent of influence are critical to the development of prophylactic therapies and the screening of women at high risk of osteoporosis.
