In the 1940s, the UK first applied microfiltration technology to tap water, industrial water supply and sewage purification. Since then, this new technology has been widely used in the United Kingdom, the United States, the Soviet Union, Japan and other countries, microfiltration products have also been serialized. It is widely believed that microfiltration is the most economical water treatment equipment in the world, and the cost of removing algae by microfiltration is low. In the 1960s, China had conducted preliminary experimental research on the microfiltration process. Due to various reasons, this work has not achieved satisfactory progress. In 1979, the Department of Civil Engineering of our school and the Fushun City Urban Construction Bureau and the Fushun City Water Company jointly conducted a microfiltration algaecide test on the Dahuofang Reservoir water.
