本文对我局所辖管的10个林场其中的6个林场,所在廉江、遂溪、海康三个县境的分别由砂页岩发育而成的砖红壤、浅海沉积物发育而成的砖红壤、玄武岩发育而成的砖红壤三个主要土壤类型的主要物理性质的坚实度、通气性、自然含水量、容重互相关系及对柠檬桉人工林(实生)林分的平均胸径生长的影响作了研究探讨。分析表明:土壤的自然含水量是影响柠檬桉林分胸径生长的主要因素,其次是土壤的容重、通气性、坚实度,且各因子是相互作用、相互制约和相互影响。土壤通气性在15~25%,林木生长良好,10~15%适宜,10%以下生长不良。容重在0.9~1.1林木生长良好,1.1~1.25适宜,1.25以上生长不良。可见,要使柠檬桉林木生长良好;必须使土壤保持疏松、湿润。
