旧工业厂房是新中国成立后国家大力发展工业建设,努力改变贫穷落后面貌的结果。它们是中国一个时代的缩影;是一个城市特定历史时期与文化的印迹。随着产业的升级与转型,曾经搁置、废弃的旧厂房又面临着新的命运。在目前的国内一、二线城市中,旧厂房借着国家大力发展文化创意产业的春风,迎来了往日的活力;而在三、四线城市中,由于廉价的开发成本,旧厂房则在轰轰烈烈的房地产开发中直接被夷为平地。
The old industrial plant was the result of vigorous development of industrial construction in the country after the founding of New China and its efforts to change the backwardness of the poor. They are a microcosm of an era in China; they are the imprint of a particular historical period and culture in a city. With the upgrading and transformation of the industry, the old factories that have been shelved and abandoned have yet to face a new fate. In the current first-tier and second-tier cities, the old factory building has vigorously boosted the vitality of the cultural and creative industries by the state.
