五十多年前,我在清华大学西洋文学系念书。我那时是二十岁上下。孟实先生是北京大学的教授,在清华大学兼课,年龄大概三十四五岁吧。他只教一门文艺心理学,实际上就是美学。这是一门选修课。我选了这一门课,认真听了一年。当时我就感到,这一门课非同凡响,是我最满意的一门课,比那些英、美、法、德等国来的外籍教授所开的课好到不能比的程度。朱先生不是那种口若悬河的人,他的口才并不好,讲一口带安徽味的蓝青官话,听起来并不“美”。看来他不是一个演说家,讲课从来不看学生,两只眼向上翻,看的好像是天花板上或者窗户上的某一块地方。然而却没有废话,每一句话都清清楚楚。他介绍西方各国流行的文艺理论,有
More than 50 years ago, I studied at the Western Literature Department of Tsinghua University. I was 20 when I was up and down. Mr. Meng is a professor at Peking University and holds a concurrent course at Tsinghua University, about 34-5 years old. He only taught a literary psychology, in fact, aesthetics.
