Partially coherent sources used as front ends are important components in steplessly induced spatial incoherent beam smoothing. The experiment of partial coherence source by using excimer laser is introduced. It is found that polytetrafluoroethylene is an ideal scattering material. The scattering properties of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) scattering source on the light beam are studied. The parameters such as beam uniformity, spatial coherence and energy conversion efficiency are given
