Researchers at the University of Cincinnati and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health conducted an in-depth study of the issue and investigated the potential impact of detecting low-dose hydrocarbon exposure on female endocrinology. Analysis shows that exposure to low levels of hydrocarbons leads to a decrease in endocrine hormone levels which directly affect women’s menstrual cycle
