美国诗人惠特曼以开一代诗风的《草叶集》扬名世界诗坛。在我国,先有楚图南选译、李野光补译的全本行世,后有赵萝蕤译本于1991年出版。应该说,对惠特曼诗歌的汉译介绍差不多有了较为完备的译本。但好诗不厌多译。在川美的译著《鸟与诗人》中,我读到惠特曼《不停摇荡的摇篮》片段,我不否认这个新译给我的阅读震动。我特意将楚译找出,比较之下,川美的译本更为直接、更为饱满,语言上也更为丰富。因此,在编辑川美这个专辑时,我特意约请她译全这首动人心魄的长诗。当然,川美的新译是否就跨越了前辈成果,还有待译界方家进行译品上的交流。作为编者,能够经手刊发这样的名篇新译,感到的是由衷的喜悦。——远人
American poet Whitman to open a poetic “grass leaves set” famous world poetry. In our country, there was the first translation of Chu Tu-nan and the second of Li Wu-guang’s translation, followed by the translation of Zhao Luoyu in 1991. It should be said that the translation of Whitman’s poetry has a more complete translation of the translation. But good poetry never tired of translation. In the translation of “Birds and Poets” by Chuan Mei, I read Whitman’s “Cradle of Shaking Rocks”, and I will not deny the reading translation that this new translation gave me.
