关于南北宗禅宗到了六祖时代,出现了神秀的渐修和慧能的顿悟,后人称其为神秀的北宗和慧能的南宗。董其昌受禅宗影响把山水画分为南北宗,抑北扬南,人为分出南北宗,加重了宗派观点,束缚了人自由探索事物本质的机缘。大千世界是没有人不用任何学习而能顿悟的,所谓顿悟,无不是从渐修而最终成正果的。世人以为顿悟是刹那间开悟而得到的,实是对顿悟之误解。殊不知,一切顿悟皆是渐修的结果。因此,在实质上是没有顿、渐之分的,两者是一而二、二而一的,故在此误解上引发的山水画南北宗之分,实乃人性的基本弱点。

The world thinks that epiphany is an instant enlightenment and it is a misunderstanding of epiphany. As everyone knows, all epiphany are the result of gradual revision. Therefore, in essence, there is no time to be gradually divided, and the two are one, two, and two. Therefore, the division of the north and south of the landscape painting triggered by this misunderstanding is actually the basic weakness of human nature.
