迄今为止,我始终坚信:凡是艺术作品都需要艺术家独特的艺术手法以及对生活独特的体验和认识。《一个死者对生者的访问》拍摄于1986年,在这之前我拍得比较成功的作品是《如意》《良家妇女》,当然也拍了失败的作品《一叶小舟》《二十六个姑娘》。后来,厂长汪洋说:“小黄,你就是不能拍那些政治性很强的作品,你还是拍适合表现自己艺术个性的作品吧。”诚然,《一叶小舟》《二十六个姑娘》的确是为了配合当时中心任务的应制之作,尽管我很想把自己的抒情性的东西,包括对生活细微的观察融入到影片中去,拍得风格化一些,表现江南水乡特有的风物人情,但是都失败了。
