Objective To analyze the detection results of blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglycerides in the general population in urban areas of Qingyuan City and its influencing factors so as to provide a reference for the formulation of preventive measures. Methods A total of 1 294 serum samples from the general population who performed the health examination in the physical examination of Qingyuan CDC in Guangdong Province from October 2011 to October 2012 were analyzed using Mindray BS-320 automatic biochemical analyzer. Total cholesterol, triglyceride detection, and the test results were statistically analyzed. Results The total abnormalities of blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglyceride in 1 294 serum samples were 9.6%, 14.2% and 12.2% respectively. The differences of blood glucose and total cholesterol among different sexes were respectively compared No statistically significant; triglyceride abnormalities were significantly higher in males than females, respectively, 14.2%, 9.8%, the difference between the two was statistically significant; abnormal blood glucose levels increased with age, ≥61 years of age group Up to 30.7%. The abnormal rate of total cholesterol and triglyceride increased with age in ≤30-year-old to 51-60-year-old group, with the highest rates of 28.7% and 23.8% respectively. The two abnormalities were in the age group of ≥61 All decreased. The abnormalities of blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglyceride of the test subjects in each age group were respectively compared with each other, the differences were statistically significant. Conclusion The abnormal rates of blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglyceride are related to age and gender. Health education should be given to the general population and prevention and health care plans should be worked out for people.
