Using tungsten carbide and high-carbon ferrochromium as the main penetration agent, the effect of the infiltrant composition on the microstructure of the tungsten-chromium surface composite layer was studied by the traditional infiltration and infiltration process. The results show that the surface composite layer with a certain thickness and metallurgical bonding with the substrate is formed on the surface of ZG230-450 castings. The relative amount of chromium carbide and tungsten carbide in the surface composite layer changes with the increase of tungsten carbide content. Tungsten and high-carbon ferrochromium content increases, the surface of the composite layer of chromium carbide morphology from discontinuous mesh into sunflower and rod-shaped.
