用非疫区的正常黑线姬鼠作实验动物,在流行性出血热(EHF)病人血液中分离到一株能与EHF 阳性参考血清起反应的病毒,经血清学和理化特性的鉴定,证明是流行性出血热病毒。病毒在黑线姬鼠体内传至第6代,接种后4天即在鼠肺中检出抗原,病毒除在常见的肺、脾、肝、肾等脏器中检出外,胃肠道组织内也极易找到。接种长爪沙鼠和家兔亦可感染。
