从8月28日到9月3日,台湾富士康集团诉《第一财经日报》的“名誉侵权案”,经历了从索赔3000万元到1元,到双方握手言和、富士康撤诉的令人瞠目的戏剧性过程。事件虽已偃旗息鼓,但它却暗示了全球正在发生的一种重要的社会结构性变革:即国家和市场以外大范围的社会机构发挥着越来越大的作用。这些机构包括政党、媒体、社会运动、利益集团、监督群体等等,这些非营利部门构成了公民社会。但从富士康事件的发展来看,作为公民社会组成部分的特殊利益保护组织的缺失或不作为,说明中国公民社会的发展任重道远
