Objective To study the effects of computer manipulation on visual evoked potentials (VEPs) and psychological behaviors. Methods Patients who had never operated the computer and had no eye diseases as the control group had computer history and no eye disease as the monitoring group. VEPs were monitored in both groups. At the same time using the WHO “behavioral core test combination” psychological behavior test. Results Compared with the control group, the latency and PL of VEPs in children monitoring group and adult monitoring group showed that there was a significant difference in the decrease of AMP regardless of PL or prolongation of children or adults. The gender differences showed that children Men and women in group and adult group prolonged more than those in female group, and male AMP in children group decreased more than female group (no difference in adult group). Comparing the years of operation of the computer, the longer the duration of short PL extended, but AMP decreased not significantly. The emotional state of the adult monitoring group and the control group were compared and found that scores of tension, anger and fatigue were lower than the control group, with statistical significance. Conclusion VEPs test can provide an objective basis for the constant optic nerve dysfunction, and the constant visual acuity decreased significantly in the long-term manipulation of the computer. Tip primary visual cortex dysfunction, optic nerve suffered a certain degree of damage. Emotional changes may be due to long-term operation of the computer or by the optic nerve damage caused by, for further study
