在西德随着家用电气设备的广泛应用,能源的消耗量也在增加。据统计,家用电器设备消耗的电能占电能总消耗量的40％,1980年达到50％。能源消耗的上升随之而来的是,由于家用电器引起的火灾的次数也在增加。据保险公司统计,每五起火灾中就有一起是使用不同形式的家用电器引起的。下表是西德汉诺威市保险公司公布的家用电器火灾统计(1979年):
With the widespread use of domestic electrical equipment in West Germany, energy consumption is also increasing. According to statistics, household electrical appliances consume 40% of the total energy consumption, reaching 50% in 1980. The rise in energy consumption is followed by an increase in the number of fires caused by household appliances. According to insurance company statistics, every five other fires are caused by the use of different forms of household appliances. The table below shows household appliances fire statistics published by Hannover City, West Germany (1979):
