Objective To understand the iodine nutrition of university students in Tianjin and analyze the influencing factors. Methods A total of 296 samples of morning urine were collected from 5 universities in Tianjin from October 2010 to May 2011. Each school collected 3 samples of drinking water supply points for a total of 15 samples, Collect canteens salt samples 2, a total of 10 copies. Ammonium persulfate digestion arsenic cerium catalytic spectrophotometric determination of urinary iodine and iodine, direct titration salt iodine. At the same time, questionnaires of iodine nutrition status were distributed to the surveyed site, and the influencing factors of iodine nutrition were analyzed. Results The urinary iodine median of 296 urine samples was 211.20μg / L, and the urinary iodine level of medical students was higher than that of non-medical students (166.61μg / L, 263.86μg / L) (P < 0.05). Knowledge of iodine nutrition was better than that of those who did not understand the level of urinary iodine. There was a tendency of lower urinary iodine in smokers, vegetarians and drinkers than in non-smokers, non-vegetarians, daily drinking or tea drinkers , But no statistical difference. In addition, gender and daily drinking water and other factors on the level of urinary iodine is not obvious. The iodine content of 15 samples collected was 7.60 ~ 10.67μg / L with an average of 8.39μg / L. Four of the 10 salt samples were non-iodized salt, and the rest were qualified. Conclusion The iodine nutrition of college students in this survey is at a sufficient and acceptable level. College students iodine nutrition by living habits and professional knowledge and other factors.
