美国庞帕诺滩伦迪技术中心生产的一种小型、低成本的箔条切割机,能在飞行期间根据需要切割箔条偶极子,有效地对付1～100GHz频段的雷达或雷达制导的导弹。切割机滚筒用来确定箔条偶极子长度,可在几分钟内在飞行平台上根据需要而更换。该切割机几乎能连续地产生足够的雷达截面积破坏雷达或导弹雷达的跟踪,能产生相当于投放3枚RR-129箔条弹的雷达截面积。该装置起动后投放箔条时,无粘滞现象,无烟火闪发。这样,便于电子战操作员夜晚操作。该装置用以取代AN/ALE-39/40箔条投放器。
A small, low-cost chaff cutter produced by the Lundy Technology Center in Pompano Beach, United States, can cut chaff dipoles as needed during flight to effectively deal with radars or radar-guided missiles in the 1 to 100 GHz band . The cutter drum is used to determine the foil dipole length and can be changed on the flight platform as needed within minutes. The cutter produces almost continuous enough radar cross-section to ruin radar or missile radar tracking, producing a radar cross-section equivalent to three RR-129 foil launchers. The device is launched after the chaff, no sticky phenomenon, no fireworks flash. This will allow EW operators to operate at night. This device replaces the AN / ALE-39/40 chaff dispenser.
