意象是我国诗学的一个重要美学范畴,与意境同为衡量诗歌优劣的标准。众所周知,诗歌的创作十分讲究含蓄、凝练。诗人的抒情往往不是情感的直接流露,也不是思想的直接灌输,而是言在此意在彼,写景则借景抒情,咏物则托物言志。这里的所写之“景”、所咏之“物”,即为客观之“象”;借景所抒之“情”,咏物所言之“志”,即为主观之“意”。“象”与“意”的完美结合,就是“意象”。
Imagery is an important aesthetic category of Chinese poetics, and it is also the standard of measuring poetry. As we all know, the creation of poetry is very subtle and concise. The poet’s lyricism is often not the direct expression of emotions, nor is it directly instilled in the thoughts. Instead, the words are intended for this purpose. Scenes are etched by scenery and lyrics are given by others. The “scape” written here and the “object” are the objective “images”; the “feelings” that are borrowed from the scene and the “ambitions” of the objects are the “meanings” of the subject. The perfect combination of “image” and “meaning” is “imagery.”
