First, how do we think of teaching algebra in primary schools? In 1958, the Bureau of Education in the Autumn School focused on the analysis of mathematics test papers for elementary schools. At the same time, the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences decided to consider the reform of the school system as the central research task of the educational psychology group. Therefore, we examined the difficulties of primary school students in mastering arithmetic from the examination papers of primary school students and the experiences of many outstanding teachers, so as to provide constructive opinions on the teaching methods and the reform of the academic system. From the students’ test papers and the experience of many excellent teachers, the main problems in the current third-grade mathematics teaching in primary schools are reflected in the following: students have difficulties in applying four questions, and in four application questions, they have differences and differences.
