The International Symposium on Rice Pest Simulations jointly organized by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), the Netherlands Agricultural Biological Research Center (CABO) and Thailand’s Kukun University (KKU) was held at the Respectful University in Thailand from May 1-5, 1989. 28 delegates, mainly from Asia and related international organizations, including two from China. The main topic of the conference is to report on recent progress and new achievements of the participating countries in applying systematic analysis and simulation models to study the dynamics of pest populations and the damage they cause.
